Scott Overend

After playing cricket and rugby for many years Scott started playing golf at the age of 19 and very quickly developed a love and passion for the game, achieving a scratch handicap within a short time.
Scott’s passion for golf and competing in tournaments only grew stronger over the ensuing years, eventually leading him to start his traineeship at the age of 25. Scott’s drive for knowledge of golf provided a foundation for his love of teaching and has lead him to undergo further training as a TPI and Junior TPI specialist. As a qualified PGA professional, Scott has taught a huge range of people; adults, children, visitors, business people, club members, tour Professionals, top amateurs and emerging young golfers.
Scott spent 6 years coaching in China where many of his young students dominated the Chinese junior tour winning events and being selected to represent their country, get and maintain their tour cards and achieve entrance to college in America.  Scott also had the pleasure of helping many, many students in China to understand the world of golf from an international point of view.
Scott thoroughly enjoys spending time with his members and students and working with them to become the best golfer that they can be. He receives personal satisfaction and loves seeing their enjoyment of golf grow and their skills develop.

Sara Deam

Sara grew up in the sunny Hawkes Bay playing badminton and basketball throughout most of her life. She decided to give golf a go after caddying for her. She soon caught the golfing bug and was fully addicted at the tender age of 17.
Sara’s passion for the game only grew stronger and stronger throughout her career. Sara started her golf at Puketitiri Golf Club becoming the senior women’s club champ multiply times and holds the current course record (69). She soon found herself representing Hawkes Bay Poverty Bay Golf at a junior and senior level. Sara has achieved many golfing achievements over the last 9 years of playing this great game. You only have to check the women’s trophies at your local golf clubs to see the extent of her success. To date Sara plays out of the Napier Golf Club where she is the defending senior club champ. Sara was part of the winning Sybil Green and Judy Pearson Hawkes Bay
women’s squad going through both tournaments undefeated in 2016 and is looking at defending these two trophies in 2017. She also is the current Champion of Champions in Hawkes Bay and Poverty Bay. Throughout her career Sara has managed and selected multiply Hawkes Bay junior squads as well as been part of many golfing committees. From this experience is where Sara finds her current passion on junior golf. Sara is keen to get more junior golfers at the Maraenui Golf Club and throughout Hawkes Bay. She thoroughly enjoys passing on all her knowledge and experience she has gained from golf to junior golfers.
Sara has decided to become a golf professional and will start her apprenticeship in 2018. She is currently finishing her studies at EIT and will have a Diploma in Sport and Recreation, Diploma in Business and a Degree in Sport and Recreation at the end of the year.
